I've got mine wired up for main beam and BMW-Blaster.
I have driven pretty long distances with them on and noticed no problems.
I have them set up so that they squint and point ever-so slightly up.
This makes them light-up around the corner before you get there.
No more black-holes!!!!!
Now I just need a spotlight on my helmet which will shine over hills!!!!!
